I Got Hacked and Now There’s a Password

🔐 Tech Tip: “I Got Hacked and Now There’s a Password…”

Recently, a client called and said:
“I got hacked, and now there’s a password where there wasn’t one. Can you fix this?”

Of course — I could, and I did.

But here’s the important part: this could have been completely avoided by having a password in place from the beginning.

When an account has no password, attackers don’t need to “break in” — they simply walk in and lock you out by setting one themselves.

What a password would have prevented:

  • Unauthorized access
  • Account takeover
  • Downtime and emergency repair costs
  • Stress and potential data loss

The takeaway:
A password isn’t optional — it’s your first line of defense.

Add a strong password. Enable MFA. Protect your access before someone else does.
