What is Tech Cleaning?

🧼 Why Tech Cleaning is Critical for Your Business – And How Tech Headz NY Can Help

In today’s fast-paced, tech-driven workplaces, keeping your computers and electronics clean isn’t just about looking professional—it’s about protecting your investment, preventing downtime, and ensuring a healthier environment for your team.

At Tech Headz NY, we specialize in professional tech cleaning services that go beyond the surface. Our certified techs know how to safely and thoroughly clean around sensitive electronic components—so your systems stay cool, your data stays safe, and your team stays productive.

🖥️ What Is Tech Cleaning?

Tech cleaning refers to the removal of dust, debris, and buildup from inside and around computers, printers, monitors, routers, and other electronics. This includes:

  • Internal fan and vent cleaning
  • Keyboard and screen sanitization
  • Printer and scanner dust removal
  • Cable and power strip organization
  • Workstation disinfection

Unlike basic janitorial cleaning, tech cleaning requires specialized tools and training to avoid static damage, overheating, or system failure.

⚠️ The Hidden Dangers of a Dusty Computer

You may not notice it right away, but neglected electronics are breeding grounds for dust, bacteria, and even mold—especially in office environments. Here’s what can happen if you ignore tech cleaning:

  • Overheating due to clogged vents and fans
  • Performance issues and crashing from dust inside CPUs
  • Allergen buildup that affects employee health
  • Keyboard germs that spread illness
  • Fire hazards from overheated power strips and cables

5 Signs It’s Time to Upgrade Your Business IT Security

In today’s world, cyber threats evolve faster than most businesses can react. Is your IT system ready? At Tech Headz NY, we help businesses stay ahead of digital threats, but many companies don’t realize their system is vulnerable until it’s too late. Here are five red flags that your business may need a security upgrade — now.

1. You Haven’t Had a Security Audit in Over a Year

Cybersecurity isn’t “set it and forget it.” If it’s been more than 12 months since your last audit, you’re likely behind. Vulnerabilities, software patches, and new threats emerge constantly — regular reviews are a must.

2. Employees Reuse Passwords or Use Weak Ones

Still seeing “123456” or “password” being used? It’s a serious liability. Enforcing strong password policies and adding multi-factor authentication (MFA) can reduce breaches by over 90%.

3. Your Backups Are Inconsistent or Unmonitored

When was your last successful backup? Could you recover from a ransomware attack today? Reliable backups are your safety net — and they’re worthless if not tested and secured.

4. You’ve Been Targeted by Phishing Attempts

Even if no breach occurred, consistent phishing attacks are a sign that your business is on cybercriminals’ radar. Staff training, email filters, and smart endpoint protection are key defenses.

5. You Rely on Outdated or Unsupported Software

Using old operating systems, software that’s no longer updated, or hardware beyond its lifecycle? These create major gaps hackers love to exploit. Modern systems are built with current threats in mind.

GoDaddy is competing with Shopify

GoDaddy launches payment processing services as it aims to compete with Shopify.

GoDaddy on Tuesday announced the launch of GoDaddy Payments, a new service that enables the company to process payments for its more than 20 million customers and puts it in more direct competition with Shopify. GoDaddy, which provides web hosting and domain registrar services, said the service was built using the technology and teams it acquired from Poynt in December.

GoDaddy bought Poynt for $320 million to expand its e-commerce and payments capabilities, and said at the time that the deal would accelerate its strategy to provide a complete suite of commerce and payment services for its customers that could rival Shopify, which has emerged as a leader in the e-commerce tech category.

With Poynt, GoDaddy gained a suite of products tailored to small businesses, including POS, payments processing, and invoicing. By combining Poynt with its existing websites, marketing and WordPress commerce services, GoDaddy is now positioned to offer its customers a unified commerce platform bridging both online and offline shopping.

“GoDaddy is hyper focused on empowering our customers to sell everywhere with a single solution in a seamlessly intuitive experience,” said GoDaddy President of Commerce Osama Bedier. “GoDaddy Payments represents a major step towards centralizing every tool and service a business needs to successfully sell online. Customer feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and we look forward to accelerating our efforts.”

GoDaddy Payments integrates with Websites + Marketing and GoDaddy-powered Managed WordPress and WooCommerce sites, the company said. The integration lets customers manage orders, payments and refunds, alongside other aspects of their online business, from one dashboard.

Over the course of the pandemic, GoDaddy saw record net new customers and acceleration across its three core product categories — domains, hosting and presence, and business applications. GoDaddy said in its Q1 financial report last month that bookings passed the $1 billion mark for the first time. In November, GoDaddy said it had added over a million customers so far in 2020, net of churn, which was its highest nine-month rate of additions in its history.
